Wow, crazy that I made it down so fast.. But I’ll tell you one thing, being home ALWAYS makes it easier and a HUGE difference!!
Today I started my day with my typical egg bagel as I posted before.. With everything, I think this breakfast is about 300 or 350 calories..
I ended up working and in meetings most of the day and wasn’t able to make the pool like I would have liked to. I finally ate my second meal of the day around 7pm. That’s really bad, I should have been on my fourth meal by then. No matter though. My roommate, Samantha had boiled some corn on the cob and made some mashed potatoes out of a bag. It all sounded tasty and when I looked, one serving was 110 calories and 3 grams of fat. I grabbed what looked to be about 1/2 a cup, and a whole cob that I painstakingly cut the kernels from. This I downed with a bottle of water.
I made it to the gym around 830 for my first leg day of the week. I really have a 4 day workout schedule and if I want to work out 5, my fifth day is cardio. Some weeks I work out all seven days in the anticipation that I’m going to miss some days in the near future because of travel.
The gym was somewhat busy this evening. I did an extensive series of stretches which I always love to take my time with before hitting the weights. I made a beeline for the squat machine where I placed a 25lb plate on each side. Slow and steady I did a set of 15 reps. I had placed a knee high bench right next to the machine and turned to do lunges (or I guess you can call them dips?) with a foot raised up on the bench behind me. I did 15 on each side. I went back and forth with no break until I had finished 3 sets of each. I was definitely breathing hard.
Someone was on the squat rack so i turned to the leg press, placed a 45lb weight on each side and did a set of 15 reps. I alternated between a leg press and a calf raise on that same machine for 3 full sets each. I was very consistent in each push and the weight was enough that it was not easy for me to finish. A guy turned to me and told me that I wasn’t using enough weight on it. What it broke down to was that he was hitting on me and saying stupid stuff just to talk to me. I HATE being hit on in the gym.
I finished off my work out on the squat rack using the 45lb bar balanced across my shoulders. I did lunges, alternating my legs so that I did 10 on each side. I normally would have done 15 but I knew that had I tried, I probably wouldn’t have finished all my sets with how my legs were feeling. I also didn’t alternate to a second exercise so I really only did 5 exercises today.
Legs feeling like absolute jello, I trudged upstairs to the elliptical machine where I turned it on manual level 1 for 30 minutes. I tested my heart rate and it was sitting pretty at 165. I didn’t have to change it from level 1 for that entire half hour because my heart rate very easily stayed up at 165 pretty much the entire time. I flexed my stomach for as much of the 30 minutes as I could…
I weighed myself on my way out the door and to my surprise I was down to 152.3. This was later in the day than I usually weigh myself, so I should have been heavier, but I also had only eaten twice, so that could account for it. Either way, it was better than the 158.6 I had seen last week.
When I got out to my car, I had my protein shake with glutamine waiting; I just poured 3/4 a bottle of room temperature water into it and shook it till it was well mixed. The Tapout chocolate has been very tasty every day. I realize now I forgot my vitamins!!
I think I have time for one more meal before I crash out in a few hours. I know I should- maybe something small???
Oh shit!! 152.3 !! Today’s food and work out.. Wow, crazy that I made it down so fast.. But I’ll tell you one thing http://tracylee.org/2010/05/oh-shit-152-… #fb
