I’m sitting on layover in the Atlanta airport. I am dreading what the next few days is going to mean for my diet and workout because I KNOW that i’m going to cheat and enjoy my time in Montreal. I also won’t be able to hit the gym as much as I would like to. So I feel like I will let myself down! I think I will be super conscious of it though, and that may help.
Now to share with you yesterday’s workout…
I got to the gym rather late right after eating dinner. I shouldn’t have gone so soon because I spent the whole time there trying to hold down my food. It was my second leg day of the week. I started out with an extensive session of stretching. I used to be super flexible but I have a hard time at this point touching my toes and holding it for 10 seconds with my legs straight. From what my massage therapist says, theres actually an issue there (i don’t go enough to her to solve the issue- who has time???)
I did my first two excercises 3 sets each with 15 reps each. First one I guess is a hamstring curl?? Don’t really know what to call it. You lay down and pull the weight towards your butt. I did the exact opposite as the second excercise where you sit and extend your legs with the weight on top of them. I do 50lbs on each of these machines. It seems light at first but by the time I get to the end of the third set, I’m struggling.
For my second two excercises, I use the multi hip machine, also set at 50 lbs. I do 30 reps of each exercise; 15 on the left leg, and 15 on the right. So actually, I do 15 hip extensions, and then 15 glute extensions on the left, then 15 and 15 on the right. I wish I had pics to share with you; it’s one of my fave machines to work with. I feel like it works well with my obliques and abdominals as well.
My third set of exercises makes me think of the thighmaster; one I pull my thighs in together, and the other I push them away from each other. I have recently bumped up to 55lbs from 50 for this one. I guess I should just do a couple more reps instead. 15 of each exercise, 3 sets each.
By the time I head upstairs, my legs are always like jello. My knee was bothering me so I decided to hit the elliptical. I got on with my heart rate sitting about 163, and spent most of the workout with it at 170 or a bit higher. And that was leaving it on level ONE!!!
I am crossing my fingers that I can get good workouts in this week, wish me luck! and thank you for everyone’s support!!
Oh crap, I’m starting to get hungry! lol
Being on the road is going to be my true test… (and yesterday’s workout): I’m sitting on… http://tracylee.org/2010/05/being-on-the… #fb
