I found myself traveling not once, but twice to see the lovely flowers blooming all over the desert in California.. I headed to Lake Elsinore on a whim (and turned it into a full adventure all over SoCal) and got there just in time before sunset… Can’t say there was a glorious sunset or anything, and the poppies had closed their buds, and it looked like it would rain at any second, but I still got some cool shots.. I spotted these sunflowers (they grow in these large bushes) and the stark contrast of the highway behind them and thought that this would make for a cool composition. So I hiked to the top of this hill, and set up my shot!
