Please come join us for a barbecue at 4 PM and bring a dish to share… or come by at 6 and meet everyone then get ready to shoot.. after the galactic center goes down, we can set up some star trail shots and then relax by a bonfire before camping out under the Orionids!!

This is a low key event and is NOT a workshop; understand that there’s a good chance lights from others may mess up your photos but everyone can work together to have a good time and get some good shots… That being said, I will answer a few questions, take a fun group shot (see previous meet up group shot!) and hang out and have fun..

Looks like Jamie Fogel and @the_gingers_adventures will be arriving there this evening, Jamie probably earlier than Kevin. @saolybensonphoto & I will be arriving there between 1 and 2 PM tomorrow to try and scope out where we’re going to set up the barbecue as well as where we’re going to camp and do the bonfire. Then I’m going to go somewhere to find phone service so I can post on the exact coordinates of where we’re going to be. Barbecue starts at 4 PM, and 6 PM to meet up to shoot the stars. After the Galactic center goes beyond the horizon, we will set up startrails and go hang out and have a bonfire and maybe see some orionids!

If for some odd reason I am unable to get phone service anywhere near the general vicinity of Trona pinnacles, then the very last resort will be taping instructions to the bathroom door that is located in the parking lot by 4pm. Any questions?

Chances are you’ll see a big group together and know that it’s us but I want everyone to feel comfortable that they’re going to be able to find us. Oh and, since I already know what Kevin’s probably going to bring, costumes welcome!
